Haven Hills provides safety, shelter, and support to all victims of domestic violence while working to break the cycle of abuse. We save lives, inspire change, and transform victims to empowered survivors.
Our Vision
We believe everyone deserves to live a life free of violence. Our vision is that all people will take personal responsibility to eradicate domestic violence in their own relationships, families and the community at large. Domestic Violence will be replaced with equality in relationships and mutual respect.
Our Goals
Haven Hills continues to evolve to meet ongoing challenges of our changing community. To be the most effective organization, the Board of Directors has adopted the following strategic goals for the next three years.
- Ensure the safety of domestic violence victims as they seek help living free from violence.
- Provide clients access to resources necessary to become self-sufficient; through counseling and education, ensure clients have the personal tools needed to live free of violence.
- Move toward eradicating domestic violence by raising awareness on the prevalence and effects of domestic violence on families and society.
History
Established in 1977 by concerned members of the Canoga Park Women’s Club, who recognized the need for domestic violence services in the San Fernando Valley, Haven Hills is one of the oldest and largest domestic violence programs in Southern California. Since its humble beginnings over 35 years ago, Haven Hills has convened a broad spectrum of public and private service providers, religious leaders, key business and industry leaders, and concerned individuals; becoming a full-service agency helping victims of domestic violence by providing critical, life-saving services including shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and support. Today Haven Hills has emerged as one of the most significant service providers for victims of domestic violence in Los Angeles County.
